| Many of you may or may not have heard the story of Ryan Moats. He happens to be a professional football player but that has nothing to do with the story really. His mother in law is on her death bed, literally with minutes to live. He is in route to the hospital with his wife and his father in law at about midnight in Dallas. About a mile from the hospital he puts his four ways on and pulls up to a red light, stops and looks both ways and blows the red light. A cop puts the lights on and attempts to pull him over. Moats refuses to pull over until he gets to the hospital where the officer contintues to argue with him despite the fact that he tells him he has a loved on minutes from death. The wife makes it to the death bed in time. With a gun drawn Moats is told by the cop that he has a bad attitude and that he could be charged of eluding the police and running a red light and if he does not produce his insurance card the truck will be towed. Thirteen minutes later Moats and the father in law are released, never making it to bedside to see his mother in law pass. The cop is suspended with the case being investigated. Obdviously this is a black eye for dallas pd. My question is this. Moats is african american and the cop is white. Is this a race issue in your oppinion?? |
