Interests
I was born in Phoenix, Arizona and other than a year in Eagle Mountain, California (as an infant) and a year in Oklahoma (around age 7) I have always lived in the valley of the sun.
Most of my growing up was in Scottsdale from age 8-17. I went to Tonalea Elementary school from 4th to 7th grade. I Went to Phoenix People's Christian Academy for 8th to 10th grades. Then became a high school dropout my junior year at Coronado High School. However, I completed my GED before I would have graduated high school and have pretty much worked full time ever since. I've worked fast food, phone solicitations, restaurant hostess, phone surveys, inventory, I worked shipping and quality control in my uncle's circuit board shop and in fact I even drove the inter-terminal bus at Sky Harbor Airport for awhile.

During the time that I worked fast food and for my uncle's circuit board shop I also attended a trade school "Mundas Institute of Travel". This is how I have now managed to work in the travel industry for 21 years. I have been with American Express for 22 years; I started out keying charge card receipts with the 10-key skills the inventory job had provided.
I knew as a teen that I wanted children but not a husband. At age 23 I gave birth to my son (whom I'm not sure of who fathered). I had been lucky enough at this point and time in my life that I had lost a lot of weight and was very favorable to most men out and about. Later, I met a man I thought would be my life partner and take me as his wife, which is when I conceived my daughter.
No! I have never been married...
I have been engaged 5 times to 3 different men (actually one person was a woman first time we thought we were going to marry and in the process of becoming a man the second time we entertained a proposal.)
Update: 9/7/2009
Now I can say that I have been engaged 6 times to 4 different men...but still does not look like I will ever be married...LOL
Guess it's not meant to be... for me :(
Suppose my Mother was right - why buy the cow when the milk is free?
Hell the last two men I've financed the relationship
I bought my home in 1992 with the intent of having a single residence for my children to grow up in and attend school from. Being that they are now both young adults I do think I have been successful.
Remembering when....

UPDATE: 2011
I'm SINGLE again :(
It is a sad story I share this time...that amazing man I told you about three years ago, somehow changed right before my eyes and become uncaring, and selfish. I've never hurt so much, I never thought he could be so cruel. He broke up with me to be with a new girlfriend and I still don't know what went wrong let alone when. It was only a month prior that we had been looking at homes to buy together. I'm pretty sure I'll never understand :(UPDATE: 2013
Well, 2012 was spent nursing my broken heart and gaining the courage to get back out there and meet new people as well as reacquainting myself with some old friends. I have a good friend base and I'm thankful for that!
I really wanted to buy the house I've been renting the last two years but that was evidently not meant to be. I have found a new house and will be living in it come the 1st of February if not sooner, check it out, pictures are posted!!!
Within the US, I have been to California (all over), Oregon, Nevada (Laughlin, Vegas, and Reno), Colorado (Denver, Montrose, Ouray), Georgia (Atlanta), New York (New York City) and Florida (Miami and Orlando).
Outside the US, I have traveled to Belgium (Brussels, Gent and Brugge), London (twice, toured southern England on my second trip), Italy (Rome and Pompeii), Switzerland (Zurich, Lucerne and Bern), Australia (Sydney only), Austria (Vienna only), San Juan, Puerto Rico, Mazatlan and Sonaran Bay, Mexico, all the major islands of Hawaii (Maui - twice).
I enjoy dining out, going to the movies, need to get up the guts for karaoke, wish I spent more time on roller skates, want to go hiking more, and on that note I'd like to go horseback riding more too. I love to go bowling. I also like to visit art fairs/festivals, hot air balloon events, and most any culture event, love to be out walking around looking and people watching. It's been forever since I hosted a card game or did any in home entertaining.
I love to travel! I love the theatre! I love quite evenings! I love having fun!
Remember these words: Your life is an experiment from start to finish. Dare to explore what is possible for you. If you do not dare, you will never become more than you are now. How sad that would be. Not that you're not enough now, but that you'll never know what might have been. That is the greatest of tragedies, cowardice is the crown of failure.
